Ceiling Leaking or Drain Rising Right Now? Call Us

It'll be worse by morning.

That's not a scare line; it's just how water and sewage behave. If something's actively leaking or backing up, every minute counts, and tonight's fix is smaller than tomorrow's.

Call now, while it's still a small job.

Ring (02) 9062 4032 and you'll speak to a licensed plumber, not an answering machine. While it's ringing, turn the water off at the meter, and don't stand beneath a ceiling that has water sitting in it.

What we do

Every Urgent Job, Covered by Our Services

Seven services, and between them they account for the overwhelming bulk of our night work. Follow any link for the warning signs, the repair and how pricing works.

Not sure which service you need?

Call us and tell us what is going on. We will point you in the right direction and give you clear pricing before we start.

Act Now or Wait for Morning? What Counts

Some faults genuinely can hold until morning. Here's where we put the line, and the reasoning behind it.

Ring us straight away

Anything putting water where your house can't take it. Burst pipes, sewage coming up through a floor waste, water tracking across a ceiling, and any smell of gas.

Same day is soon enough

Dead hot water, a toilet blocked but not overflowing, a drain that's sluggish rather than stopped. Uncomfortable, not damaging.

It'll keep till morning

A dripping tap, a cistern that keeps running, weak pressure at one fixture. Worth fixing, but nothing is getting wrecked overnight.

Local knowledge that matters

Common Plumbing Emergencies in St Ives

Most after-hours calls we take here start underground, in a clay sewer line that was laid a long time ago. The 1959 rezoning turned rural land into a suburb almost overnight, and the detached brick houses that followed were plumbed in jointed earthenware.

Those joints are where mature garden roots get in. A root-blocked main gives you no warning during the day and then backs up at nine at night, when the whole household has finished showering and the line finally gives up.

Big blocks make it worse, not better. The gardens that make Rosedale Road and the streets behind the St Ives Shopping Village worth living on are also feeding a dense root mat into the oldest pipes on the property.

Here's what that looks like from inside the house:

  • More than one fixture gurgling or backing up at once, which points at the main rather than a single blocked drain
  • Waste rising in the lowest gully or shower, usually the one closest to the street
  • A blockage that clears, behaves for a few weeks, then returns in exactly the same spot
  • Overflow at an outside gully after a long shower, rather than after rain

Same fixture every time is usually a local blockage. Several at once is the main, and that's a tonight job.

Our simple process

Our Callout, Step by Step

Four steps, from your first ring to the moment we leave. Nothing happens to your house that you haven't approved first.

  1. 01

We ask the right questions fast

Where's the water, is any wiring wet, can you reach the meter. The answers shape everything that follows.

  2. 02

We talk you through the first moves

Often you can stop the worst of it before we arrive, with us on the line.

  3. 03

On-site, we confirm the diagnosis and lock the price

One fixed figure for the repair, agreed before a tool comes out.

  4. 04

    Repair, test, make safe

We don't call it fixed until it's verified holding, working and safe to leave with you. Timing is honest, not scripted: a cleared main is usually one visit, while a collapsed section may need a return trip with different gear.

Fair, upfront pricing — no surprises

Upfront Fixed Quotes, Explained Honestly

Not knowing what it'll cost is its own emergency.

It keeps people standing over a burst pipe doing mental arithmetic instead of calling for help. So we settle the money question early: $0 call-out, then a fixed price before any work begins.

What you approve is what you pay. Once the number's agreed, you can stop calculating and let us get on with fixing your home.

Some detail on how that works in practice:

  • There's no overtime loading after dark, on a weekend or on a public holiday
  • Quotes are free, and there's no obligation to go ahead once you've heard one
  • Your quote covers the fault we've diagnosed; anything else we find means we stop and re-quote first
  • Card and bank transfer both work, and you pay once the job is done

Settle the price, then let us work.

Why Homeowners Here Pick Us First

St Ives is a suburb of long-held family homes, mostly owner-occupied, where people plan to still be there in twenty years. That changes what they want from a plumber: not the fastest patch, but a repair that holds and someone they'd let in at 2am.

  • Lifetime Labour Warranty. Guaranteed for life: we come back. No questions. No cost.
  • A real plumber answers. Any hour you call, a licensed plumber picks up and starts helping.
  • Fixed before we start. You approve one written price before any work begins. It never grows.
  • $0 Call Out Fee. No fee for coming out. Day or night, weekend or public holiday.
  • Lic #275278C. Licensed and insured, so the trade behind the promise is checkable.

Servicing Every Home From Pymble to Killara

St Ives is home turf, and our regular run reaches the five suburbs beside it inside Ku-ring-gai Council. Choose yours below for its own page.

All five are next door, so we're rarely far away when the call comes in.

St Ives's Housing, and What It Means for Your Pipes

The suburb went up in three clear waves, and you can hear the difference in the pipes. Houses from the 1940s to the 1960s carry the oldest drainage, the 1960s to 1980s wave brought a different generation of fittings, and the newest infill sits around the Mona Vale Road local centre.

Double brick and brick veneer hide their leaks well. Water gets into a cavity, tracks down inside the wall and shows up two rooms away, which is why guessing where to open a wall costs more than finding the leak properly.

Then there's the weather this ridge gets. Sitting at around 171 metres on the bushland edge, St Ives runs notably cooler in winter than coastal Sydney, and cold snaps are what finally kill a hot water unit that's been limping for years.

Summer does the opposite damage. Storm run-off pours off the bushland catchments toward Garigal, older stormwater lines surcharge, and water comes back up through the lowest gully on a sloping block.

1000+ Reviews, One Common Thread

1000+ five-star reviews

Real jobs, real homes, re-told with permission. Names are first names only.

1000+ five-star reviews, and the pattern in them is boringly consistent. Nobody is surprised the plumbing got fixed.
What surprises people is that someone picked up, the price didn't move, and the mess got cleaned up. Turn up, be straight, charge what you said you'd charge.

Good questions, straight answers

The Questions We Get at 2am

Six questions come up more than any others on a middle-of-the-night call. Here they are, answered plainly.

Is your team fully licensed and insured?

Yes. The plumber at your door holds a current NSW plumbing licence, with full insurance behind them. Ask for licence #275278C and check it.

Can I reach a real person at any hour?

Yes, any hour of any day. Ring at 2am on a public holiday and someone licensed will answer, ask what's going on, and start talking you through it.

Who picks up when I ring after hours?

A plumber does, not a message service. That matters on the ridge streets off Mona Vale Road, where a caller can describe a gully overflowing and get useful instructions immediately.

Can tape or a repair kit get me through until the plumber arrives?

Sometimes, briefly. Tape might hold a weeping joint for a little while, but never a split line, so shut the water off at the meter and ring us rather than trusting a patch overnight.

What's the first thing to do when the toilet won't stop rising?

Do not flush again. Lift the cistern lid and push the flush valve down to stop the refill, then close the small isolation tap behind the pan and call us.

Does home insurance cover a burst pipe?

Usually the water damage is covered while the pipe that failed is not. Photograph the mess before we touch anything, and we'll write up the fault and the repair for your claim.
